ABOUT ME
My name is Melissa Ish, I am currently going through training to become a certified Barton tutor (see How I can help page for more information on Barton). I myself have dyslexia, I have done so much and gone through so many programs to help me overcome dyslexia. I have truly been helped by the Barton program, and feel it is my turn to give back. I have a great deal of empathy towards those people who are going through the same thing that I have gone through. I just want to let you know I am here to help you through every step of the process.
The reason why I chose brain waves reading and spelling represented by a sea turtle with a brain and waves, is because sea turtles are my favorite animal. They are my favorite animal for a reason, I always seem to identify with the turtle because of its slowness. Being slow is not a terrible thing, in fact, the classic story of the tortoise and the hare shows that slow and steady wins the race. So even though the Dyslexic brain is different and sometimes slow doesn't mean that you can't ride the waves of life like this sea turtle.
